Family & Portrait photography is a great way to capture special moments with the people you love. It helps to preserve memories and create beautiful keepsakes that you can look back on for years to come. It also provides a great opportunity to spend some quality time together. We often get so lost in making sure that we have the memories of our children by taking pictures, but we often forget to include ourselves in these.
Family photos are a staple in any home, they make a house a home, and gives you something to love and adore for many years.
Here is some information regarding my style of photography and what you can expect in your newborn session.
My preferred style of photography is timeless and natural, capturing all your real smiles and laughter. There will be gentle guidance from myself, as I prefer to capture the true connections and love that run through the family, as these show the best smiles, not just staring down the lens and being told to smile.
WHERE WILL THE SESSION TAKE PLACE?
Your family and/or portrait photography session will take place in the comfort of my own lovely home studio, on the outskirts of Barnsley and Rotherham, at Manvers, South Yorkshire.
It is within easy access from the M1 and A1 motorways.
WHAT SHOULD I/WE WEAR FOR THE SESSION?
I recommend wearing clothes that are coordinated but not necessarily match.
Pick colours that complement each other and fit your family’s personality! Avoid wearing busy patterns or logos and try to choose colours that you think will compliment your décor .
My colour palette for indoors is natural authentic colours like whites and creams paired with light coloured jeans.
HOW SHOULD WE POSE FOR THE PHOTOS?
Posing for me, is quite simple, I just ask you to be yourselves.
I don't have a strict posing guide, I prefer to capture things that happen in the moment, whilst having a tickle fight or a family hug. I will offer some light directions to help.
HOW LONG WILL THE FAMILY / PORTRAIT SESSION TAKE?
Family photo sessions typically take between 45 minutes and 2 hours to complete.
This will depend on the size of your family (I only offer family sessions for small family's), the number poses you'd like to capture, including individual images, and the age of any children involved.
WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY PHOTOS?
You will receive your link for your online viewing gallery is around 3-4 weeks, usually less after the session date.
You will be able to download your selected amount of digital images straight from the gallery.
I suggest doing this on a computer or laptop as mobile phones can decrease the quality of the images.
If you've purchased a collection that includes fine art prints, you will be able to select which images you would like from the gallery. It is then a couple of weeks for you to receive the prints.
DO YOU SUPPLY PRINTED PRODUCTS?
Yes, I offer a selection of fine art and normal printed products, from lose prints to albums.
You will receive a pdf document with the products and pricing in. There is also a selection in the studio for you to have a browse through during the session.
I always suggest purchasing some kind of printed product, such as prints, album or folio, as they can be a staple to your home, as well as giving you something tangible to show your family and friends and have on display.

Upon booking a 50% booking fee/retainer fee is required to secure your date in my diary.
Your retainer fee will be deducted from the package you have already chosen at the time of booking and the remaining balance is payable on the day of the session. Please note, your retainer fee is non-refundable, but is transferable to another date if rearranged within 48 hours of your current booked session date.

During your session I ask all my clients if they can think of a piece of wall in their homes that looks empty and lonely, and would benefit with some professionally made wall art. Here at Becky Helen Photography, I offer a varitey of wall arts including:- wall spheres, frames and canvases. As well as some lovely print options that include a print box with mounted prints inside and a triple winged folio.
