Over time doing any kind of photography, i have many clients who for whatever reason ask me to exercise confidentiality with their images, this can be for many reasons, whether they are in the public eye, have adopted children or just purely want privacy.
It is a really personal thing, whatever the reason behind the confidentiality, I will always honour my clients wishes. At the end of the day they come first. It is always a hot topic, especially with new photographers and with GDPR. Many new photographers, will only want to shoot the session if they can use the photos for marketing purposes, which is very unfair for paying clients. This is one reason I offer model calls, and it always explained that the session is free, with some free photos, but they will be used for marketing. People always have the right to change their minds. This isn't saying that it doesn't always pain me sometimes.....not being able to share, but that is because some of the photos are absolute stunners, which I would want to shout about from the rooftops, but my clients wishes will always be respected.
